Inequality in health
By taking into account the different starting point and needs of citizens and patients, we work to contribute to more equality in health within prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and care.
Social inequality in health denotes that one’s social position has an impact on one’s living conditions and health, somatic and mental illnesses, and life expectancy. In other words, some groups in the population become ill earlier and die at an earlier age than others.
The Danish Health Authority works to alleviate and eradicate the consequences of social inequality in health.
