National clinical guidelines and action plans
The Danish Health Authority has published a range of national clinical guidelines (NKR), which contribute to ensuring uniform care of the highest possible, and is responsible for issuing national action plans for selected focus areas such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and chronic diseases.
The national clinical guidelines are scientific recommendations used by healthcare professionals, municipalities and regions to make informed decisions. The national guidelines deal with various aspects of diagnostics, treatment, care and rehabilitation for specific patient groups to ensure uniform care regardless of where the patient lives.
